Silberschnitt Evaporating Cutting Fluids

Modern synthetic cutting fluids are definitely preferable to traditional cutting agents such as petroleum or kerosene. Cutting fluids lubricate the cutting wheel, minimizing friction and thus enabling longer product life. A reduction in cutting pressure results in less damage to the glass surface, leading to less chipping and better edge quality. In addition, the finest glass particles are bound and consequential damage in the downstream process steps is avoided.

Since both production processes and environmental conditions are different for each manufacturer, the cutting fluid must also be adapted to the respective conditions. Glass thickness, surface temperature, and type of application are a few important factors when selecting the right cutting fluid.

V52 - Fast Evaporation

• With its short evaporation time, Silberschnitt's V52 formula is a residue-free evaporating cutting fluid developed for offline cutting and is suitable for standard glass and also for coated and laminated glass.

V55 - Standard Evaporation

• The V55 formula is a residue-free medium speed evaporating cutting fluid that is characterized by its universal application. V55 is used for both online and offline cutting and is also suitable for mirrors and low-E glass.
• Viscosity: 2 mPas

V59 - Slow Evaporation

• V59 evaporating cutting fluid was specially developed for applications that require a longer evaporation time. In addition to offline applications, V59 is also used for online cutting on float glass lines in higher temperature ranges (40-60 °C).
